A couple of my major projects...
(If you're looking for programming/ web app examples, please visit my github page.)
e-Exclusivity is a website that provides classified listings for vintage and designer fashion. Despite a ten-hour difference in time zones, the client was very involved with this project, and was a pleasure to work with. I did all of the server-side coding, which included user registration, search functionality, advertisement "wizards" (including a photo uploader/editor), contact forms, integration with PayPal APIs, and control panels for both users and the administrator.
Most of the site was written in PHP and MySQL, but I also cretaed a few cron jobs to deliver usage reports and clean out unused photos, as well as some .htaccess magic to create virtual subdomain names for user's "shops." The front end of the site uses jQuery, and all of the generated markup is valid XHTML (to match pre-existing site pages).
ReelLumber.com is a complete, ground-up website redesign for a hardwood lumber company in southern California. The public site launch has been delayed, but the site is available internally to the company and the public release is planned for this fall. I did everything for this one: the programming, the database, the layout, the graphics, the Facebook and Twitter pages. I am really looking forward to seeing it "in the wild."
One of the main site features, as you might imagine, is a searchable product catalog. Customers can search for items, ask questions about them, send messages to their salesmen and get price quotes online. Corporate information and history pages are available, along with downloadable forms. Something that will really set it apart from other lumber websites, however, is the Customer Area: customers can create photo albums to show what they built with their "Reel" lumber, post their contact information in a customer directory, and interact with the company via social media sites. The site also has a news section and a blog, and announcements are automatically posted to Facebook and Twitter.
